2000 Garments Per Day! – See How Apparelmaster Keeps ANZCO Foods Hygienic

Here at ANZCO Foods Canterbury we do roughly 9,000 lamb a day. And we’re double shift and up to five hundred
cattle a day. We’re the second-biggest South Island plant. We’re supplying world quality meat products
all around the world, so personal hygiene and room hygiene are critical. ANZCO is obviously our largest client, they
have 850 men out there and we’re processing around 2,000 garments a day. So, we make sure that all ANZCO staff have
got the right uniforms every day. So, at the end of their shifts, the guys will
go into the locker rooms, remove their whites and put them into the clothing bins, they’re
removed and taken away for cleaning We provide a daily pick-up, what we pick-up
today we drop back tomorrow. They’ve got a variety of departments and we
go around all the different departments pick them up and then redeliver them to their departments. Because it’s very important that the right
gear goes to the right place. Every day. Every production day. No uniforms –>no production. we understand how important hygiene is to
ANZCO, because they have international standards to meet, and have got international customers. We’ll have auditors come from, obviously from
all parts of the world, and, it’s near regular. We have a very robust process. What we do is, we have a separate area where
the garments are sorted, it’s called the dirty sort area And the garments are turned in the right way
and we weigh them to make sure the end up in
the correct washing machine and put onto the correct food industry program. It’s all setup computerised when our teams are handling garments, they always wear a white coat and a white cap, this means that the garments are kept clean and no risk of any cross-contamination. So, what we’ve achieved with going through
this process is top-notch hygiene processes and it couldn’t be any better. the presentation of our staff is in big part
is due to our Apparelmaster partnership and… ya… we’re very, very happy with that. To be Assure Quality certified, we have to
have a very robust process. For ANZCO, the Assure Quality mark that Apparelmaster
hold, is key for us. For our overseas visitors, just being able
to show them the Assure Mark and obviously, they look around and see the people going
in and out and check the uniforms out…and… to be honest, it’s just not an issue What Assure Quality does for a food industry
customer is, it’s an independent audit and it gives them peace of mind that our process is suitable for export markets that the likes of ANZCO are doing. Obviously, with the success here at Canterbury, the Apparelmaster contracts rolled out to other sites across ANZCO. Yeah, we do like to deal with the local businesses,
if issues do arise, it’s easy to tackle. And that’s the beauty of dealing with Apparelmaster, you can deal with the owner we’re all owner operated businesses and we can react quickly to customer’s requirement, we can be flexible, we’re here to keep the customer happy! Although we do enjoy dealing with local businesses and it is a lot easier to deal across the group with national entities that can provide that service across the group and from a customer perspective they’re keen to see the consistency from some site of site. ANZCO Uniforms are business critical. Apparelmaster give us the excellent service we need, to actually need to run a business like this.
