Adventures in DRESS Shopping with DAD 🤔

Adventures in DRESS Shopping with DAD 🤔

>>How did it go, Abby?>>Good.>>Was it fun? Did you learn a lot of stuff from Mary Kay?
>>Yeah.>>I’m here at the dress shop with Abby, and I have no clue what
size of dress she is. Now that is cute.
That’s Abby, that’s an Abby dress. Can you wear sandals with nylons? That’s talent right there. That’s talent. [Captions by Judy V. at Y Translator] Hello Passengers! Kevin here. We are getting ready to take
Abby to her Harp Camp. This is the Utah Suzuki Harp Institute. It’s at Utah State University. Abby’s going for the first time, and she is super excited.>>Getting the harp into the car is
like the hardest part of playing the harp.>>It’s a good thing it’s got this
like Big Hero 6 cover all over it.>>We’ve got this Dad. We’ve got this. You’ve got this. [Music] In we go. [Music]>>We found your spot. So, we’re on the campus now
of Utah State University, and this place has a
special place in my heart because this is where Ruby and I met. I was going to school here. I was a civil engineering student. Ruby came. She started in accounting student. We met in our student housing
and in our local church congregation, fell in love, and the rest is history. But this place looks completely
different than what I remember. I mean they’ve made
a lot of changes here, and I hate to say this, this is my alma mater. I spent four and half years here, and I’m lost.>>How’s it feel? It actually looks pretty good to me. Does it feel okay to you?>>Yes, it’s okay. [Music]>>It’s lunchtime. Abby had her morning. How did it go, Abby?>>Good.>>Was it fun? Did you learn a lot of stuff from Mary Kay?
>>Yeah. She’s such an amazing teacher.>>Really funny.>>And it’s really nice that Abby has
a good attitude about learning.>>You ready? Let’s go check it out. [Music] What about these, Abby? Do you want some drippy pizza socks?>>Eve would like these.>>What? Unicorn socks. Are they hotdogs?>>Yeah. Hotdog unicorns? [Music] There. Yes. [Music] We’ll have to come get
a blanket before we go. You can take it at home. Time for group pictures. In three, beautiful smiles. Today is Russell’s birthday, and we can’t be there
to celebrate it with him. So, we are going to go do our own
celebration for Russell’s birthday. We’re going to take a picture. We’re going to send it to him. I hope this is the right place. We’re gonna go get some cupcakes. [Music] Okay, what kind did we get Abby?>>White chocolate cheesecake,
whatever it’s called, and then chocolate ganache.>>Yes. Happy birthday, Russell.>>Happy Birthday.>>It is late. It’s like 10:30 p.m. And we’re gonna go
to the other side of Campus.>>We’re gonna roller blade back.>>It’s the only way to travel. [Music] That building is where
I went to school, right there. That’s the engineering building. That’s where I became
a civil engineer extraordinaire. Right up here is where
Ruby turfed it hard on her butt when we were dating
and she was a student.>>Dad.>>Don’t die.>>I won’t.
>>Okay. Welcome to day 4. It’s lunchtime and I stopped by
to pick up the Hoelleins Bonnie Hoellein and their kids, and they want to come out to lunch with us. And then I was met with a little surprise. Look who’s here. There’s Abby. There’s Cody and there’s Russell!>>And here’s Boston!>>And Boston’s way back there too. So Russell decided to come
home with Aunt Bonnie. They went up to visit
Russell on his birthday, and brought Russell back so they can
have a sleepover for a couple nights with his cousin Cody. What fun. I love sports. I’m a sports fanatic. And today is the World Cup semi-final
game between England and Croatia. Guys. We’re going to Buffalo Wild Wings. Let’s go.
>>Yeah.>>Have you had any chips and queso?>>I’m not trying any right now.>>Why not? England scored in like the
first seven minutes of the match. Wow! Oh, look who joined us.>>Daddy, we got lemonade.>>Can get the kids to eat? All they want to do is play a lot of games.>>That’s fine with me. As long as we can.>>That’s right!>>Watch the game.>>I know. Well, I guess it’s good because
it just keeps everyone distracted. We’re here at our last evening
before we head home, and it’s been so much fun. But then I just got this fun
little tid nugget dropped on me. For Abby’s recital tomorrow, she has to wear like a nice dress, like a church dress. And guess who forgot their church dress?>>I did.>>Yeah, you did. And so that means that
your dad’s being put on the spot, and he has to go and do something
that every dad is terrified of doing. And that shopping for a dress. Thank you. Okay. What size are you? What? You gotta throw me a bone. What– You don’t know what size you are? I’m here at the dress shop with Abby, and I have no clue
what size of dress she is.>>Well…>>Well what?>>12, she’s a 12 in the– In a child’s 12.>>Oh, she’s a 12. You’re a 12.>>Right here. They got tons of 12s.>>Um, we need something more classy. They ha– Oh, Now, this is a really beautiful dress. But you need a cardigan to go with it. [Music] If we pull this off, I’m gonna celebrate tonight. [Music] Let’s see. Oh… No. I’m not into this like lace cowgirl theme.>>That’s okay. I cannot communicate to you
how disappointed I am that dress didn’t look good. But, and I’m no fashionista, but I’m telling you even
I could tell that was a terrible look. I mean… Definitely not for a harp recital. And I’m actually liking this
the more I look at it. [Music] Okay, we found one that might work. But it’s going to require
leggings and new shoes. You got done yet?>>I just got in.>>Are you done yet?>>No.>>Are you done yet?>>Not even close.>>Are you done yet?>>Dad?>>## you okay?>>Damn! I’m doing this left-handed. You’re back. Oh, let me see. Now, that is cute. That’s Abby. That’s an Abby dress.>>Do you like it?>>Yeah.>>You like it a lot? Okay, let’s pick nylons that work, and then we have to get
you some flat shoes as you can’t wear
sandals with nylons, kid. Even your dad knows that.>>I wish there were …
like every day at church.>>Can you wear sandals with nylons? Comment down below. [Music] Yeah. I like those. Those are beautiful. [Music] But don’t you get like
stinky feet if you wear socks, or shoes without socks. I would think you would.>>No, you actually don’t.>>You don’t?>>You sure about that?>>It’s the thing with girls,
we don’t get stinky feet.>>Yeah. Tell that to your mom. That’s right Ruby. I said it. Bomb dropped. Yes! Thank you Children’s Place
for making my life easier tonight. Okay, we’re gonna get some–
>>This is not a sponsored video.>>This is not a sponsored video. [Music] You’re probably wondering
how Abby’s dress turned out. You ready for this, today? [Music] Abby! Are you excited? You’re like right in the middle of the stage. Nervous?>>No.>>I’m proud of you. You’ve worked hard. She’s worked so hard
to be a good harp player, and she is here. Okay. I think I was born
to be on the stage. [Music] And that’s a wrap! It’s been super fun. Thank you Utah Suzuki Harp Institute
for an awesome harp camp. Abby and I had a blast. We can’t wait to come back in two years. Good job, Abby! You’re all done. That was really awesome. I recorded a bunch of it. I like your eyebrows. She gets them from me. That’s talent right there. That’s talent. Okay, let’s get your harp loaded up. We got to go. [Music]
