I’m Anne Peranteau, one of Te Papa’s Textile Conservators So this dress is dated to about 1780 I think it’s quite special we get to see the inside, and finding little clues to how it would have been worn, for instance, little tapes or buttons that connect You can kind of get a sense of what it is going to look like when it does get put on the form. So that’s quite cool – to know the garment inside and out and start to envision what it’s going to look like. You have that vision, and you work backwards from that.
