  1. Thank you for showing people how they should do it yourself repair for people who want to make it look better without painting…. The wack jobs who complain could have just watched another video and not waisted my time with there comments great job

  2. When you polish the clear coat you are removing some of it. It's just clear so it doesn't show up on the rag. Clear coat is just paint without pigment.

  3. I'd just DA sand it down, tape it off, and shoot it with acrylic enamel. Meanwhile, you're getting carpal tunnel……..๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

  4. I did just like that and in a little over a month it was all back ๐Ÿ˜ž I just waist my time and money

  5. To me the object is to keep that from happening in the first place. I did an experiment on my 2002 Tacoma years ago and that was to wax it every time I wash it. Not with liquid wax or paste wax but with spray wax. The liquid or paste wax would work but it would take to long so when I have washed my truck and dried it off I apply the spray wax. I have been using Turtle wax Ice spray wax and it only takes 10 or 15 minutes to wax the whole truck. You just spray some on and wipe it right off with a big microfiber towel and just work your way around the truck. The nice thing about the Turtle wax Ice is that if you get some on the trim it wont turn hazy like regular wax. After 17 years my paint job still looks great because the wax protects it from the UV rays of the sun which is what causes paint jobs to deteriorate.

  6. I'm having trouble with his time estimates for the entire hood. He spends nearly 12 minutes on one square foot but the hood–which has to be 15-20 square feet–he says will take only 20-60 minutes?

  7. Appreciated the strong advice I work on detailing auto body but with the work comes time and maintenance on my own vehicles I think I will use this product

  8. That is very impressive! Admittedly, itโ€™s not a proper end finish, it it certainly gets you by until you can get it dealt with properly…many thanks and excellent job๐Ÿ‘

  9. You say here that you're using the fix it on the clear coat first, if that is so why is the small part to the right of you shinier that the clear coat? If the clear coat has peeled off wouldn't it be dull like the part you're shining first?

  10. I had this problem on a 23 year old vehicle. I used a rattle can of clear with almost no prep and achieved a slighty better result than this. It has lasted more than 2 years now.

  11. I used a tungsten bladed scraper for my 22yr old Vauxhall Astra. You would NOT believe how hard the crazed lacquer was. I was shocked. In my case I took the super hard lacquer right off the estate roof and bonnet leaving most of the paint….then wet and dry sanded….then Aerosol repainted and lacquered…..lot of work… Thanks for this….interesting approach and I wish I'd seen your video before……great idea.

  12. Ok…if you have a large area to do, you will look like the Incredible Hulk when you are done…but hey, it worked.

  14. Looks nice, but it's just a temporary fix. We all know wax doesn't last forever. Maybe a few car washes? Then gotta do all the spots again. The be great if you trying to sell the car

  15. Makes me wonder how I'd spot this when buying a used car? Hate to see my car has no clear coat once all that stuff wears off.

  16. Thanks. My Blue, 2005 Honda Civic has the exact same problem. THIS INFORMATION IS VALUABLE. THANKS AGAIN. I will use your techniques for an inexpensive restoration.

  17. Hi
I purchased 2 kits yesterday but never recieved a confirmation email?
Very eager to try your product!
    Let me know!

  18. So my paint isn't chipping or peeling but it is very very oxidized, maybe early signs of clear coat failure? I can still use this product? My paint looks like that bottom section you have taped off.

  19. If the entire vehicle looked like that, it would take a huge amount of hard rubbing without a buffer, and alot of that cleaner and wax stuff. Would be cheaper and easier to just lightly wet sand it, then can spray clear coat over it. A guy could wear out really quick hand rubbing a car like that… just sayin.

  20. 2:14 never use a blade to remove clear coat .
Use 400 grit sand paper with plenty of water
Then polish the area the way you did and it will. One out great , better yet apply thin coat of clear and it will look crazy good

  21. My ex Jeep surface lacquer was the same on all 3 sun panels & around base windows.. great idea though . ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ

  22. Car manufacturers gotta stop putting clearcoat on cars. It just ends up looking hideous after 5 years, and too difficult to repair.

  23. That looks like a great product for bringing a shine back on a car, but why not just sand and repaint once the clear coat is gone? It's fast, even auto stores have base coat clear coat to buy. If the clear coat drips or sags when painting just wet sand and buff those spots. It would also be permanent too.

  24. Love his video. Entertaining and educational.I did mine yesterday but got a little orange peel effect over the larger areas. I will update after the blending.

  25. My friends dads trucks clear coat is so bad you can go up and legit crumble it off the car ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

  26. One thing they don't use same paint like old times never see this in old car we pay so much for a car to get this crop of paint ๐Ÿ‘น๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜

  27. Can anyone tell me what they would charge to paint and clearcoat a hood??? What if you do the sanding and then take it in to them? I just feel you would be fighting this all the time. Better to paint it.

  28. I got a car a while back, 77 Chrysler Codoba, I guess they didnt clear coat them back then, would the Fix It work ok instead of waxing it?

  29. Just remove the peeling off clear coat which really isn't thier by wet sanding and just buff the base coat.

  30. First though, every day, give the areas of peeling a scratch with a fingernail and see if you smell fingernail polish remover or acetone or any other chemical. Good video, thanks.

  31. why isnt there a product that will make the finish look like it did when it was wet. Doesn't seem that hard to me.

  32. I have a 2008 Nissan Armada . I lovingly call it the Ghetto Sled. And the hood and rooftop is just starting to look like that car hood and growing daily! Is it possible to use 0000 steel wool instead of the sand paper?
I've decided to make a video of me (a 64 yr old grandmother) attempting to fix the car with your products. My channel is brand new…so I'm not looking for any freebies! Only success! Thoughts anyone?

  33. Hey I'm in New Mexico too near Los Lunas. I may try this on my Tundra or if you are close and do this for people I'll pay you to do it. Waiting for a response or may call phone numbers you gave. Thanks. I love learning.

  34. Thanks for the clear instruction, but I'll do without the tape, the last guy taught me to use tapes for smaller sections, by the time I finished the car looks kinda weird with square grids on it lol

  35. They used to use 2 pack laquer and it lasted then we got health & safety because 2 pack was isocianide so they went over to water based & that does not last but does generate a a lot of work for the paint shops !

  36. He didn't spray new clear coat on the section that was worn off, and I'm wondering why. I'm working on my 2005 car, and other videos show renewal of the clear coat before waxing.

  37. I don't understand you buffed off the clear coat? Or just the top layer…? I have a well loved Suzuki. I got a new hood want to match up the fenders well at least ..

  38. what could I use to remove the clear coat coming off my carย and apply a new clear coat layer . I don't want to removed the paint, just clear already peeling off.ย  thanks

  39. Usually when you see damage on a car like this, its usually an aftermarket paint job failing. Thats why I avoid repainted cars.
