D.I.Y. Wall Mounted Coat Rack – D.I.Y. At Bunnings

There are a lot of things you can build yourself
in your own home. One of these such things is coat rack. I’m gonna turn this useless storage space
behind the door into something really useful. The beauty of doing it yourself is you can
choose the shape, the dimension and the location of where you want to put it because you know
your needs best. These are the tools and material needed to
do a wall-mounted coat rack. This is the dowel we will use for our coat
hooks. I’m gonna cut five at an angle of 22 and a
half degrees. You can cut as many as you like. Measure and mark the size of your hooks. These can be as long or as short as you want
them to be. As you can see, we have a 22 and a half degree
on one end and a 90-degree on the other end to give us a nice finish on our coat hook. This is our hard wood we will use for our
backing board. You can cut this to any desired length using
our drop saw. Now that we have our backing board, we will
now mark where our hooks are gonna be and center them. You make a template with a 22 and a half degree
angle cut. This angle will be suitable for the angle
of your dowels. This template is so you can draw all your
hooks at an identical angle. Countersink on the backside to hide the screws
and also to sit flat on the wall. Next, pre-drill the dowels for the screws. A drop of glue in our pre-drill hole and we
screw it on. Use a slightly damp cloth to wipe off any
excess glue. When it’s dry, sand and paint to the desired
color. Now pick a place you want to put your new
coat rack and attach it with the appropriate screws. Who would’ve thought this useless space has
now turned into something as nice as this? This is an easy storage solution that makes
such a big difference in the space.
