DIY Tutorial – Learn How to Crochet Easy Bolero Shrug – Cropped Sweater Cardigan Clothes Clothing

Hi I’m Donna Wolfe from naztazia.com Today
I’m going to show you how to crochet an easy and lightweight bolero shrug. To do this you
will need some lighter yarn, such as a DK weight, an H crochet hook, scissors and a
yarn needle. You can find the written pattern on my website, naztazia.com You can custom
fit this by measuring the desired width from elbow to elbow across your back. I like mine
to be about 34 inches across. To begin, make a slipknot. Then chain 145 – or – any odd
number you wish. Now is the time to adjust your chains if it is too small or too large.
Do 1 double crochet in the fifth chain from the hook. Chain 1. Skip 1 chain. Do 1 double
crochet in the next chain. Repeat this pattern cross the row. At the end, chain 4 and turn
your work. Do 1 double crochet in the adjacent space. Chain 1. Do 1 double crochet in the
next space. Chain 1. Repeat this pattern across the row. At the end, you’ll put your last
double crochet in the last space. Chain 4 and turn your work. Repeat what we’ve just
been doing for as many rows as you wish. I did 27 rows for a height of 12 inches. Measure
your work before you get too far to ensure it is correct. Next we’re going to fold this
rectangle in half. And mark off where you want your sleeves. Sew along the edge, part
way, to create sleeves. You may need to try this on a few times and adjust your sewing
accordingly. And here is your finished bolero shrug. You can put an optional border on if
you wish. Make a slipknot, and then make a single crochet into the shrug. Chain 3. Do
1 single crochet in the next space. Continue this pattern until you have an even number
of chain loops around. Once completed, slip stitch. Now, slip stitch into the adjacent
space. Chain 1. Do 1 single crochet in the same space. In the next space do 5 treble
crochet stitches. 3, 4, and 5. In the next space, do 1 single crochet. In the next space
do 5 treble again, followed by a single crochet in the next. You can see what the finished
item looks like. As always please visit naztazia.com for the written pattern. To view this video
