Dress for Success with Ann Taylor LOFT

[music] Hi, I’m Jordan, your trusted stylist here at Ann Taylor LOFT, also the manager and visual merchant. Today, I’m here to help you invest in key pieces while adding to your business work wardrobe and get the most for your money. Step 1 is to invest in a nice blazer. It doesn’t have to be black, you can most certainly do a nice charcoal here. Sometimes if you do have fair skin, the black is a little too strict onto your face. Now you do have the option, you can do a nice skirt or a dress slack. When doing a skirt, you want to make sure that it’s not very clingy and you have some movement with it, and the length is at least above or to the knee. Now, with dress slacks today, you do have your options, so you can do a nice wide leg trouser, which is nice and fluid motions from the waist all the way down to the floor. We also have a boot cut, which is a little more fitted to the knee, and then has a nice drape effect to the floor as well. A little more modern, we do have a new straight leg, so it’s the same thing as a trouser, however they just narrowed it a little bit and it goes straight into the ankle. So when buying, you want to buy a really universal piece, so my fan favorite is actually a nice button-down. If you can see over here, we do have a pale white, and we do have a polka-dot as well, so it’s a little more fabric. So this, when you’re going to the interview, you can wear it with or without a blazer, you can wear it with a dress pant, you can wear it with a skirt, also, when it’s a weekend, you can be a little more casual and just throw on your favorite pair of jeans like I am.
