EP 5 マダガスカル上陸 | フィッシャーズと失われし碧き秘宝

After 28 hours from Japan,
with a stop in Paris, we arrived in Antananarivo,
Madagascar’s capital. Sainte Marie is one more hour on a plane. We first planned to meet
a local guide in the capital. -We made it to Madagascar.
-Nice! It’s very crowded. -What’s this city called?
-Try to say it. Antanananana… Anta-grandma-rivo. What was it? Antananarivo. The packed marketplace in Madagascar was very difficult to walk through. Since it was hard to film,
we also had a camera on hand. Jeez, guys. Hold on. I just felt a pickpocket. -From behind, right?
-Seriously. Watch out for pickpockets. There are a lot here.
Someone just approached me. -That was close.
-That is crazy. I had my hand in my pocket,
and I felt someone else’s hand. Seriously? That’s a lot of beans. They also have a lot of fruits. Oh wow, look. They have strawberries. And things I’ve never seen. They have crabs there. Oh, you’re right! They’re alive. The crabs are alive. The crabs are alive
and the kids are still here. I wonder what they want. It really is crowded. I think it’s just this road. Yeah, let’s move away a bit. -Go right.
-Away from the crowd. -I’m hungry.
-Me too. -Search for a restaurant?
-Yeah. How about this place? It’s like a cafeteria. Want to check it out? -Oh, it looks good.
-Yeah. -Is that sausage?
-The portions are huge. Look! It’s a cow’s muzzle. You’re right! Look closely. -A cow’s muzzle.
-What! It’s got teeth. Let’s eat that,
it looks interesting. Um, uh… Please. Then… Our first meal in Madagascar
is a dish made with a cow’s muzzle. With soup and rice,
it’s 800 yen for four people. With these prices,
I can definitely eat well on this trip. I’m going to try the nose now. Really? He ate it. How does it taste? -Like a lot of fur.
-Ugh, I can’t. Wow! It’s like I’m eating an old man. The fur is so thick. That makes no sense. More kids are gathering. -It’s an audience.
-Like a festival? I’m scared.
We’ve been stared at all this time. Maybe Japanese people
are rare here. They’ve been staring at our bags. -I got nice footage…
-That group of guys is scary. -Yeah, since a while ago…
-They’re staring. -Do you see their pockets?
-Yeah, scary. Jeez! The guy in red! He has a knife, be careful.
Seriously, be careful. Is that a billhook? -It’s terrifying.
-A machete? I’m not sure. Be careful and watch the bags. -You shouldn’t stare.
-Okay. Thank you. We finished our lunch nervously and headed to
where the guide was waiting. Wait, just one more bite… -Hurry up and eat.
-You really ate a lot. -Okay, that’s it.
-Okay? C’mon, I’m scared. Thank you, thank you. Maybe this way? Motoki, can you check behind us? Look up ahead. -There.
-That way? We’re going to those stairs over there. Okay, understood. They’re following us. -Who?
-Look behind us. Crap, they’re getting closer. Let’s try walking faster. Walk faster, go go go. -Go straight.
-Go faster, faster. We’ll probably pass through
this marketplace soon. They’re matching our speed. They’re really close. When we entered a less crowded road… Whoa! Run run run! Right right! Go right! Right! -Up ahead!
-Here! Ok! -They’re coming!
-Up ahead! Go! What? What? Go up ahead! I don’t have anything! S&!t… Running up these stairs hurts. Crap. It hurts. Are you okay? Only three of you? Where’s Ndaho-kun? -Not here.
-Ndaho-chan? Not sure. Did you get separated? He should know the way,
so I think he’ll be okay. That was close. I’m glad we’re safe. I’m not sure if
the path we took was the right one. Maybe staying in the crowd was better. -Right?
-Yeah. Oh! Where were you? I was hiding. Where? With that huge body? That’s actually amazing. Mhm, yeah… Wait… This old lady… Helped me out. -Old lady?
-Who’s that? -An old lady?
-At the stand… Nothing happened? He can’t even talk. What an encounter. Yeah… If I stop, I won’t be able to move,
so let’s get going. Madagascar is scary. The guys stopped chasing us
at the bottom of the stairs. I’m beat.
I used all of my energy back there. It’s too intense. Had we turned around,
we’d have seen this beautiful view. But in our exhausted state, we were desperate to get to the cafe
to meet the guide. Was that it? Are we there now? Oh! It’s him. -Hello.
-Hello. Whoa! Japanese! -Thank you for waiting.
-Of course. She’s Japanese! Welcome. Should I get two more chairs? No, it’s alright. We’ll just stand. Well, then… You’re very sweaty,
are you okay? We ran into some trouble earlier. What happened? -Some guys with knives…
-We were chased by pickpockets. Did you lose anything? Probably not, but we haven’t checked. Is this very normal? There are, in the crowded areas. I see, we’d better be careful. -True.
-Maybe we were targeted. This is the local guide, Mr. Dede. Mr. Dede? And I’m the translator, Megumi. Nice to meet you both. Silk. Motoki. Masai. Ndaho. Ndaho? Ndaho. Let’s go. Apparently, Ndaho means, “Let’s go”. Oh! -Ndaho!
-Mr. Let’s Go. It’s in Malagasy. I see, his name is in Malagasy. You were really slow though, earlier. You said, “Let’s go” and came late. So, our purpose here… We’ve been to different islands,
searching for Captain Kidd’s treasure. We searched around in Japan… We told Mr. Dede
the things we had gone through and asked about Sainte Marie. Actually three years ago, a silver bar was found in Sainte Marie. -Three years ago?
-That’s recent. That’s really recent. [President Rajaonarimampianina, 5/7/2015] This is three years ago,
when the silver bar was found. It weighed 50 kilograms. There is a reason why this was
thought to be Kidd’s treasure. Sainte Marie is a little island that William Kidd used as his base,
and the treasure he hid on the island might still be there. Is it possible for us to go? Of course! Hurray! We were then on our way to
the third island, Sainte Marie. With calm coves
and an abundance of delicious food, this island, which is close to
the Indian Ocean route, was a preferred port
for many pirates in the past. Wow! The view! -It’s so beautiful.
-Wow! -Huh?
-Oh! This is our ride? -This is cool.
-Whoa! I feel like we’re filming a music video. I can sit here? -Ouch… Ow!
-The roof is pretty low… -We’re off!
-Let’s go! This place is so pretty. -Really, really pretty.
-Wow, look! It’s a real village. Dang! A pure scene of a village. -Right?
-Yeah. -It has a nice vibe.
-The village looks nice. This is awesome! -Everything’s amazing!
-I know! I’m already satisfied with this. Wow, the ocean is beautiful. The only clue we had for finding
Captain Kidd’s treasure was a silver bar, found three years ago. First, we headed to
where the bar was found. Whoa! -This way.
-Okay. Wow, this is really tropical. What’s that? Look at that view!
And the boat! -It’s a legit boat.
-Be careful. Oh! This thing is sturdy! Hurry up. Wait! This one’s shaky. That was close! There are no waves at all. -It’s really calming.
-Yeah. Why did you come here? Treasure, treasure hunter. -Yep, that’s right.
-One team. Team Treasure Hunter, the Fischer’s. William Kidd’s treasure. Can you ask him about it? No? What? It doesn’t exist? No, only the people that find it
can say it exists. That’s true. I believe. -We’re on this journey to find it.
-Yeah. -A silver bar.
-I want one. Me too. I’d like to at least find one thing. It said they’ll buy
gold and silver in the city. Hey, we’re not selling anything. What? Are we here? Looks like it. Kidd’s silver bar was found here. -What?
-Here? Right here? -It’s pretty close to land.
-It’s shallow. No way, there are even boats here. Here? Can we dive here to search? -I want to dive.
-Me too. -Can we?
-Are we allowed to? There aren’t sharks either. Mr. Dede said, with the silver bar came
many foreigners who wanted their own bars. They made a mess,
causing the government to limit diving. We would have to ask permission. -Well…
-Let’s ask and see. -I’d like to go dive.
-Me too, for sure. 30 Minutes later. It’s okay? Yes! Happy, happy! We were granted permission as long as
we stuck to skindiving. -Let’s go!
-Yeah! It all fell off! The ocean was shallower than expected. This made it easier for us
to find something. We believed in this slim possibility
and searched the ocean. Then, Silk finds something. Whoa! Hey! Come here! Isn’t that cool? A sunken ship. Look over here, isn’t that cool? A grave? A pirate grave? That’s who he was? I’m starting to think it doesn’t exist. It’d be bad if we can’t find it. Really? Dang! That’s what it meant! It’s up to us to survive.
