FIRST DAY AT OUR NEW SCHOOL! | We Are The Davises

(upbeat music) – They’re taking them away. – At the other school they
didn’t have lockers, so. – They’re taking them. Bye, see you later! Have fun, bye! (energetic music) – [Mom] Morning! – Morning. – [Mom] You got your uniform on? I think Kayla just realized
that she’s just now waking up, but I think we’ll be alright. I don’t know where she ran off to. Dad said he set your guys
alarms but maybe not hers. – I thought I heard hers,
it might have been yours. – [Mom] You practicing? – Yeah. – [Mom] How are you liking that? – I like it, I can’t play though. All I know is Chopsticks,
and I still can’t play that. – [Mom] It’s only been,
oh my Gosh, two days. It’s so dark in here. I’m going to find Kayla and Daddy. Making Kayla’s lunch? – And helping her, because her
alarm went off a little late. I need to kind of step in
and help out the team here. – [Mom] That’s cool. So we got your backpacks ready, lunch is almost ready. We don’t have any books yet, I guess that’s what we
are going to do right now, get your books. Go a little early. – That’s what they said. So we are going to check out their school the best we can. I may have to do it with my phone, I don’t want to look like a freak, walking around with a camera. – She said she could walk
like this with her phone. – Yeah, I got you, I got you. – [Kayla] Just pretend like
you’re texting someone. – Yeah she’ll be like. – I’m going to be incognito. So we can kind of spy
them and see how it goes. But here’s Kayla in her uniform. We kind of slapped that together. I mean not the uniform,
but her hair this morning, because she woke up late. I think it looks crazy. You’re hair looks like brown now. – [Dad] She almost looks
like a different person. Like, every time I see her
I’m like, “Who are you?” Where’s my girl? – [Mom] I know who you are. – It reminds me of Rapunzel
after she got her hair chopped. In the movie. – [Mom] It will be
lighter in a little bit. We’re just going to start off that way. – She’s so pretty, my little angel. – [Mom] You can still see
a little pink in there, but that’s the best
that everybody could do, to get that down. I don’t think you guys could tell, but it is, it’s still a little pink. – Everyone at dance said it looked purple. – [Mom] Yeah it’s kind of purplish-pink. So, it accomplished the goal, so we’ll just lighten it up from here. I think everyone’s ready, so
we’re going to grab their bags and head out the door, because they are supposed to
be there in like 15 minutes, and I don’t think we’re going to make it. – [Dad] Oh yeah we will. I don’t know. They got to get there a
little bit extra early because they got to show
them where their classes are, give them their books,
show them their lockers. You know all that stuff you
do on the first day of school. – [Kayla] Am I allowed to bring my phone? – We’re doing it again. Yeah, bring it. Your backpack has your permission slips for your field trips. They have the most cool
field trips coming up. Kayla is going to Catalina
Island in like a week. So jealous, and she’s going to be gone. They don’t allow phones. – Well there’s no cell
phone service there, that’s what they said in the thing. – Whatever. We’ve been to Catalina Island,
and I’ve used my phone. – Are they going to sleep on the floor? – I don’t know. I think it’s just going to
be a hotel room, probably. They are going to live the fancy life. I’ve been wanting to go
back to Catalina Island ever since we got back,
which hasn’t been that long. So, I guess we can live with this, but lucky kid! – I forgot to put lotion
on my legs, I’m ashy. – Scratchy. Her first day at school, scratchy. – The dogs are barking. – Yep, and Tyler, he gets
to go on a field trip right after Kayla, and he’s
going what do they call it? – [Tyler] Rock climbing. – Tyler goes to El Capitan,
and that’s in Santa Barbara. And that’s a real camp ground. He’s going to have so much fun,
it’s going to be for a week, and you get to do rock climbing, as long as your back is better. Cause you guys remember, he hurt his back. He’s been working on it
morning, noon, and night now. Because he’s excited, he wants
to do this rock climbing. I don’t know, have you guys ever heard of your school doing stuff like this? It’s kind of crazy,
they even said the kids will get to go to Spain at some point. No more worries. Yay, everyone looks the same. They used to look exactly like that, when they went to a private school in first grade and second
grade, and preschool. And it looks so cute, because
it reminds me of that. – [Dad] I know right? – I feel like I need to get them binkys. I got to take first day
of school pictures still, when we get there, yay! – You should try to find
the first day of school for our old school, and
then try to recreate it. – You almost look exactly the same. So funny. We’ll call it the first day of second day. – [Dad] The first day of school again. – The sequel. – [Dad] The first day
of school, the sequel. You okay there buddy? – He was going fast. (upbeat music) – They’re taking them away. They got their books and we are going to take a
couple of the books home. They can take them to their lockers now. And they are going to go
see all their classes. – [Dad] Are you guys excited? – At the other school
they didn’t have lockers. – They’re taking them! Alright bye, see you later! – See you guys. – My babies are off to school. Just kidding. – Party time, woohoo they’re gone! – They’re out of here, yeah. Let’s go to Starbucks. – We got to do a video
like, What do the parents do while the kids are at school? Throw a party. – [Mom] Have a tie wrapped
around your forehead. Woohoo, sliding down the hallway. – In my underwear like Tom Cruise. They probably don’t know
what I’m talking about. Risky Business. – [Mom] You’re too young for
that, don’t worry about it. Hi guys! – [Dad] What’s up guys? – [Mom] How was school? – Good.
– It was good. – Kayla has like 80 phone numbers now. – Yeah, literally, no joke,
like 40 girls know me now. – [Mom] Did they recognize you because I know your hair is different? – No they were just excited
that I was the new girl. – [Mom] You’re a new student. We like you because you’re you. That’s awesome. – [Dad] That’s very cool. – I got friends because of YouTube. I got one friend or a couple
because I’m not doing YouTube. – [Kayla] But you are doing YouTube. – But they didn’t know. – [Dad] They probably want
to be your friend just because you’re a cool guy and they recognize you on YouTube, they’re not your friend
because of YouTube. – Yeah, there’s one girl named Panda. – Oh, and I’m doing
studio art first period and so we were working on square one art and I’m doing two narwhals kissing. – [Mom] Tell them what narwhals are just in case they don’t know. – The unicorns of the sea! – [Mom] So they look like little whales but with a unicorn horn? Aw so cute. – [Dad] I just learned what a narwhal was just the other day. I didn’t know. – [Kayla] I taught him, I taught him the ways of the narwhal. – I had no idea, I never even
heard of a narwhal before. I sounded like- – I know what a narwhal is. – [Dad] But you know everything, I’m always so far behind the curve. – I’m that sort of hip mom. I’m not going to give myself 100% hipness, because I don’t know certain things. – My legs are do are sore from dance, so I was walking up and down
the stairs like ow, ow, ow. – You have hip hop in a
couple hours after homework. Do you guys have homework? – Yes.
– Yes. – [Mom] A lot? – Yes.
– Kinda. – [Mom] You have some
catching up kinda homework? – [Dad] Well let’s get
home and get you to do it. Because we have such busy schedules. – [Mom] Aw, the love. As soon as you get done
loving, change your clothes. When you come down,
we’ll take a quick peek at what you’re doing for homework. Because you know how
much kids love homework. – [Dad] Oh homework is awesome. – [Mom] It’s like the
highlight of the day. – [Dad] I wish I could do homework. – [Mom] What did you do to your laptop? – Covered it in stickers what do you mean? It’s beautiful. – [Mom] Kayla decorated her laptop. – My Corgis. – So we can tell the
difference between ours. – And Mommy doesn’t like it because she thought I was
going to only add one. But I bought like two packs of them. And slapped them all over. – [Mom] Crazy girl. – It’s got unicorns, donut,
I got ice cream, and sushi. That’s a fish bowl, this is space. – [Mom] Show them that crazy pen you got. – Oh, and I’m getting
into drawing on my laptop. So I got a special drawing
app, and I also have this. You can draw on your screen with it. And its like a fine-point pen, but it’s got a little disk on it so it can protect your screen. And it’s for drawing, and I’m so excited. – Animation, animation. – [Mom] And you guys
have a lot of homework? What’s a lot? An hour you think? – Some classes let me
get away with no homework because it’s my first day. Oh and I remembered
that my laptop is dead. – [Mom] And Tyler is
hiding under the chair. – We have to get iPad minis for class, because all my teachers were like, “Do you have an iPad yet?” – [Mom] I thought they were
going to give them to you? – No. – [Mom] What’s the difference between that and what Tyler just brought home? – Tyler said that one wasn’t his, he’s borrowing it. – [Mom] From the school? – We need to sign a form. – And then we have to get cases for them. (piano playing) – [Mom] I think you’re learning
how to play that faster than you are the singing part. – No, I only know one song. This is A, B, C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C. – [Mom] So what do you
have homework in, math? – No, yes. – [Mom] Math and science,
history, english? – I’m not sure. – [Mom] Well you better get
on it, and figure it out. They gave me homework too. – But I have more. – [Mom] Did Kayla sneak outside, nope. – I’m looking through the
fridge because I like to. There’s nothing in the fridge. – [Mom] What about your homework? What do you got? – I want to get a snack first. – [Mom] What’s in our cupboard? Bam, yes looking at
what’s in our cupboard. It looks like boring food. – We got chocolate. – [Mom] Yep that’s not for you. – I call. – [Mom] Nope, you can’t have it. That’s for a video, sorry. You’ve got nothing. Whatcha working on? – Homework. – Yeah, what homework? – Science. – Oh, sounds like fun. Actually science is fun, don’t you think? – Kind of. – It looks like you don’t have any hair, it’s blending into the couch. – I’m incognito. – Kayla’s bald. It will be blonde again. – Someday. – But for now we’re brown. Tyler’s saying he’s going
to be doing 3D printing. – Next week. But the normal math class, or
the normal technology class, it’s called Plus, we start
that at the end of the year. But in my technology class
I get to start next week. – I wonder what 3D printing means. – You get to 3D print. – [Kayla] Duh mom. – Duh. – So I thought printing
was on one piece of paper. Like flat. – You get to create objects
that are 3D Mom, in a machine. – [Mom] So how does that happen? Explain yourself. – I don’t know how it happens, but I’m pretty sure you
make the digital thing on the computer and you make it 3D, and you put all the points and stuff. And then you like trace the
image to the 3D printer, and the ink is like okay. And then it starts making the object. – [Mom] And then what? Like a thing pops out
that looks like this? – You could make this. – [Mom] Like the printer would
make that and pop it out? Or do you have to tape it together? Like it comes out flat like a pattern, and then you have to put it together? – No, it comes out like this. But it takes several hours
because it goes layer by layer. – And sometimes if it’s
too big you have to create different parts
and put it together. – [Mom] Why do they call that a printer? A printer is something
that puts ink on paper. – Cause it’s printing, no. – [Mom] I want to see this 3D printer. – It looks really cool. – [Mom] It sounds like one
of those futuristic things where you punch in what you want to eat and then it just pops out at the bottom. – You can make a burger,
you just can’t eat it. – Like Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. – [Mom] Okay, so Kayla,
she’s going on a field trip, and she has to pick out
a one piece bathing suit, which is part of your field trip. So I was thinking she would
get something like this, what do you guys think? Should she get this outfit? I think it would be covering
everything at that point. – [Tyler] It says Speedo. – [Mom] So what do you think Kayla? – Um, I think I’m going
to buy my own one piece. – [Mom] Did you have any
ideas of what you wanted? – Something from Target. Because they usually
have cute bathing suits. – [Mom] But this is cute. It’s got a ducky or something on it. – That’s a shark. – [Mom] It’s like messed up,
the picture got messed up. – It’s like a fish, and a
jellyfish, and another fish. – [Mom] Maybe we can find
one with a narwhal on it. – [Both Kids Singing] Narwhals, narwhals, swimming in the ocean,
causing a commotion, cause they are so awesome. – [Mom] Did you guys want
to take a break real quick and open a couple pieces
of fan mail that we got? – Hang on let me finish this sentence. – [Mom] Taking a break. This says to Kayla specifically. – Okay, please read
before opening further. “Dear Kayla, you’re so pretty and funny and one of the main reasons
why I watch We are the Davises. Another reason is because
you and you’re entire family are so funny and you do
the coolest stuff together. I enjoy your challenge
videos, vlogs, and DIYs. One of my favorite vlogs was the unicorn onesie party sleepover. By watching that vlog I realized
how much you love unicorns and once I saw these, it
totally reminded me of you. I got these at Claires, and there is an entire
collection of unicorn things, but I thought you would
like this the best. Thank you for making
such entertaining videos, and fun DIYs, if you
would like any vlog ideas I have a bunch. I hope you’re enjoying your new house and loving California. From your biggest fan, Erin.” Then she put her YouTube, and it’s called Two Random People. So make sure you go follow them. Two random people. Okay, go follow them. – Is it T-W-O or is it the number two? – [Mom] Let’s see what you got. Let’s see, let’s see. – Okay, okay, okay. – [Mom] What did Erin get you? – It’s unicorn head phones! Oh my Gosh! I actually need headphones for school, so like oh my gosh. – [Mom] Are you allowed to
take those to school you think? – Probably, because like yeah. – [Mom] Oh my Gosh, that is awesome. Wow.
– I’m a unicorn. – [Mom] Erin, those are awesome. – I got to start dancing. – I actually need
headphones for technology. So like, done. – [Mom] Perfect!
– He’s dancing. He’s dancing, no don’t
flash it at me, just go. – Thank you! – [Mom] That is an
awesome, awesome gift Erin. You are a great gift giver. – These probably aren’t cheap either, so thank you very much, I
very much appreciate it. – Okay, so I got this box,
I don’t know what’s in it. – I got a little doggie. – Aw, it’s a Harley! Harley it’s you! – A little bunny. – [Mom] Aw, that’s cute. – That’s your baby. She’s so excited. – I got some slime. – [Mom] Slime! – I got a letter, okay it says, ” Hi Kayla and Tyler, I’m very excited. I get to send this to you. I’ve watched you guys
since your first video. My name is Ella.” Hello, and it says, “Please open on camera!” – [Mom] Thanks Ellen! – It was in all caps so we had to yell. It would have been exploded. – [Mom] Thank you! – Meet your brother, Harley
doesn’t like his brother. – [Mom] Oh he loves him. He wanted you to let you
go so he could take him. He just didn’t want to
take it out of your hand. – He’s going to eat him. – [Mom] No, they won’t eat
him, they just want to play. – Oh my Gosh, she’s so excited. What’s this, Harley? He’s like, but that one’s more fun. Go get it. – [Mom] So the verdict for school is? – Not fun, no I’m just kidding. It’s just a lot of homework. – [Mom] It’s school,
it’s still school right? But it’s a cool school. – It’s like a thousand times
better than my last school. Sorry if anyone’s watching
from my last school. – And I go to Catalina, not
next week, but the week after. – [Mom] Yes, I can’t believe that. And we aren’t allowed to go
with you, it’s so not fair. – And I’m excited because
my science teacher said that one of the activities
we do is night snorkeling. And she said there is, I
forget what it’s called, but it glows in the dark. Like it doesn’t glow, and
then you kick your feet it starts glowing and it’s
like someone throws pixie dust into the water towards your feet. She said it looks really
pretty so I’m excited. – [Mom] That is cool, that’s awesome. Do you guys want to say goodbye? – Goodbye. – Everyone comment down below,
how awesome is Kayla’s shirt. Oh, sorry, how come
Tyler’s nose got broken? But look at that shirt. That is like the coolest
shirt in the world, I want it. – [Mom] That’s daddy’s favorite group. – It is, and it’s velvet, oh my God! – Velvet. – I have to have that shirt. – I’ll give you the real
question of the day is, what field trip this year
are you most excited for? If you have any, because I know some years you don’t get any, like I did. But if you do have any field
trips, then comment down below. Which one are you most excited for? Yeah, so make sure you like, subscribe, comment down below the
question of the day. Until next time, bye! (upbeat music)
