Welcome to the first Canadian location of
the renowned Kleinfeld Bridal Salon. Perched on the 7th floor of Toronto’s Hudson Bay
Company’s flagship store this exclusive and truly magnificent bridal salon offers
the largest selection of designer brands in Canada. Kleinfeld’s Hudson Bay, already
known for it’s magical touch with every bride they serve, also offers an enormous
collection of elegant shoes, masterful jewelry, stunning headpieces, bridesmaid dresses, flower
girl dresses and lingerie. The Manhattan Kleinfeld Bridal Boutique has
made wedding day dreams come true for over 60 years. This new Toronto Salon is over 20,000
square feet and showcases over 55 international brands and designers including favorite Canadians
such as Ines DSanto, Paloma Blanca and well known bridal brands such as Lozaro and Maggie
Sottero, and elegant masterpieces of Pnina Tornai who’s work is exclusive to Kleinfeld. Behind the scenes, Pacline Overhead Conveyors
is proud to be the solution provider for Kleinfeld’s need to store and retrieve this enormous collection
of lavish wedding dresses. The majority of Kleinfeld’s over 20,000
square feet was devoted to customer area and only 2,800 square feet was allocated for garment
storage. The objectives for this storage area were
to accommodate a continuous flow of new bridal inventory, to manage constant Trunk Show Gowns
that frequent the Boutique regularly, and to provide safe and clean storage management
and easy access to inventory that could not be displayed in the salon as well as and to
manage the flow of custom alterations provided for each and every bride. This system needed
to handle their usual inventory of over 700 gowns with provisions for up to a 35% capacity
expansion when required. Not an easy challenge while ensuring this
system will be extraordinarily quiet, completely safe, clean and require very low maintenance. The solution was two independent conveyor
tracks, built with the PAC-LINE conveyor. This system is clean, quiet and is the safest
track in the industry with its enclosed chain design. Both conveyor tracks were controlled
and easily accessed through Pacline’s exclusive “Retriever” ASRS controller which stands
for Automatic Storage and Retrieval System. All garments are assigned their own specific
hanger slot number that is then easily retrieved through the Pacline Retriever control panel. For the future expansion, the Kleinfeld storage
facility offered enough overhead space above the existing conveyor that an additional track
could easily rise up into that normally unused area utilizing that free space above. Be sure to visit Pacline.com and our “Garment
Storage Section” to read the detailed case study about the Kleinfeld’s Hudson Bay installation.
