Girl, 14, ‘too big’ for school uniform in tears after she’s banned from class – Live News 24

A SCHOOLGIRL was left in tears after being put in isolation – because teachers said she is too big for her uniform skirt  Kada Jones, 14, has to wear a different skirt to the grey pleated knee-length one in the school’s uniform policy due to her size  But she was removed from classes in Portchester Community School in Fareham, Hants, over her grey size 24-26 skirt from Aldi, which she claims she wore last year without complaint  Kada, who was told she would be forced to either study in isolation or stay at home if she doesn’t wear the regulation skirt, has been left heartbroken  She said: “I’ve been crying for the past five days – I don’t understand, I’ve done nothing wrong  “People get put in isolation because they have done something wrong; they’ve been treating me like I’m not even a human being  “All I want to do is go to school.”  Her mum Carleen Jones, 54, has now lashed out at the school – and claims the headteacher never raised an issue last year when her daughter attended his maths class  She also said Kada, who is studying geography, health and social care, history and art alongside the core GCSE subjects, is medically healthy  The mum added: “If she was dressed like a punk rocker or something I would understand, but this skirt is similar to the school ones and is absolutely fine ”  Richard Carlyle, headteacher at Portchester Community School, says all schoolchildren must abide by the same rules  “It’s about the skirt being the appropriate length and appropriate material.  “Miss Jones’ skirt wasn’t quite up to school regulations in terms of length, but the school is working to find a uniform that is compliant  “Pupils have a duty to wear the uniform respectfully and with dignity.”  This week, The Sun told how a 14-year-old girl was left humiliated after being pulled out of class for her trousers being “too tight”  Francesca Negus, 14, was ordered to take her snug pair off by school chiefs – and swap them for ‘Bridget Jones’ elasticated ones from the staff room instead in Norfolk  And furious mum Claire removed her daughter Eva, 14, from school after teachers branded her new purple hairdo a violation of their uniform code
