Heroes and Survivors: Textile Tornado Plant

Heroes and Survivors: Textile Tornado Plant

I just remembered it being like any other
day. Thunderstorms were coming through,
didn’t think much of it. But by 3:00p, the weather has escalated into
something much more serious than a rain storm. There’s now a Tornado Warning in effect. At the textile plant, staff get the warning
on their cell phones. I think a lot of people didn’t just take that
warning as they should. I looked at my phone went, ah. But within 30 seconds of receiving the alert,
the workers realize that this storm is the real deal. I saw a flash of light and I was like man,
there’s some lightning there. Then I saw two more bursts of bright light
and I realized that, that was not lightning. It was actually transformers blowing up across
the street. There’s nothing you can really do. There’s nowhere you can really go. Workers try to find cover wherever they can. I could feel tons of debris hitting our backs,
hitting our sides. It was coming from up and under. The sheer force and the power of all of it,
I mean it was just abolishing everything in its path.

  1. The Lord is slow to anger and great in power, And will not at all acquit the wicked. The Lord has His way In the whirlwind and in the storm, And the clouds are the dust of His feet.

    Nahum 1:3

  2. I looked and this is the Spartanburg EF2 tornado, that forklift you see in a few shots was overturned.
