How To Make A Belle Disney Princess Dress For Little Girls From T-Shirts! Easy DIY!

Welcome to Pins and Things. Today, I’m going to show you guys how to make this gorgeous Belle dress from T-shirt for a little girl. The first thing that I have is a t-shirt And this is the smallest shirt that I was able to find so that what we’re going to do is we’re going to tailor it to her size. Come here And I’m flipping it inside out. I can get the pins on in the right places and tighten it up And I am not a professional in this but I figure out a way. You love it Okay, I’m going to pin it on your sides. I’m going to take the pin so basically I’m just making it form-fitting to her and whatever I do on one side I need to make sure I’m doing to the other side. So the ideal way to do this is when she’s not got other clothes On underneath, but I think that we can still get it pretty form-fitting even with her dress It’s a little bit too tight to pull off of her without poking her so right now I’m going to actually take my marker and just mark up cause it’s on the inside It won’t show up, but I’m going to mark the places where I’ve pinned it so now I’m taking out the pins and taking off the shirt. Now that it’s officer ivory, pinned it back together where I drew the line I’m going to stitch that area together then I’m going to take the bottom and stitch it out to this one Are you ready? She is now a flying squirrel here put your arms out show them how you’re a flying squirrel Alright now we’re going to trim it up from here, but it looks really good on her I think it’s it fits her shape really well I just had to try it on her to see how it was going to fit and if it’s going to fit right and It did so now I’m just going to trim off the edges I’m actually going to trim off this too, but I’m going to make it match on both sides, so now that it’s trimmed I’m going to take this and find the middle and just flip it over on the other side and trim the other side to match it I’m just going to have these flames really quick Normally, I wouldn’t worry too much about hemming this part But I want to make sure that it is very sturdy because this is going to be a good lay dress I’ve got two big extra large. I think no these are two Xl t-shirts I got all of these on sale at Hobby Lobby for super cheap like maybe two dollars each so two four six and That’s going to make a great little dress okay. I want her dress to go all the way down to the floor Maybe a little bit up off the floor just for the sake of having an easy time playing in it but I’m going to take it down to 21 Inches, and that’s pretty much Just giving me a little bit of leeway, so that I can have a hemline I’m just going to hold it down right here And pivot it around and dry out as I go I’ve laid it out perfectly flat and make sure that it There’s no wrinkles in it and then both sides are flat And I’m just going to cut out this other piece, and then we will have two of this shape And then I’m going to do two more from the other t-shirt, so in total we will have four of this shape cut out So now I have taken my measuring tape and I’m measuring where on her belly I want it to go and it’s going to be 20 inches and so we have four pieces Four panels for the skirt and so I’m going to take 20 and divide it by 4 and that equals 5 inches each so the very tip-top I will need to cut off the triangle at the top and hem right there so that we can have it be 5 inches after I’m done putting the 5 inches at the Top of each triangle, I’m going to sew each of the Edges together to make the skirt That’s very princess y now twirl around in a circle. Can you do that for me? So I’m just marking where I think it needs to be stitched down And then I’m going to sew it all together with the dots that I put on I’ve made two marks in the back and three In front, so I know exactly where to attach it out I’m just going to cut it with a little bit of seam allowance below the points that I’ve put on there Now it’s time to sew these babies together and making sure that all of the seams are the right direction And we’re also not going to have one to go straight down the middle We’re going to kind of put it on an angle. So she’s got two coming down in the front. And we have a dress. So pretty much We took a yellow tank top and we made a perfect circle of t-shirt material and we sewed them together That’s about it. It’s pretty nice because it’s stretchy twirl can you twirl around? So I’m going to take a little bit of material see through and it feels so nice Material and we’re going to put a little bit on right here I’m actually using the floor to just measure out a rectangle So I’m going to cut it about 14 and a half inches wide And I’m just going to go the length of the yard I’m just gathering together the material and I’m kind of draping it on her put it on Her right here and stitch it on and then I’ll be doing the exact same thing pulling it over And stitching it in the back To make sure that it goes all the way around just like that, stitch it here and here now I just going to gather it up right in the middle pin it down So it’s only pinned in the front and in the back. Alright, now it’s time to stitch it up. These are surged I just did that and now I’m going to take them and Gather them together I have to hold the rest laid out And I’m going to go about half way up where the dress is And that’s where I’m going to stitch it and I’m going to kind of make a W from Seam to Seam so just like that And then again, I’m going to gather it in every place that I stitch it down I’m going to stitch it right here, stitch it right here, stitch it right here And then I’m just gonna keep going and bring that whole pattern all the way around the whole skirt Okay, trying to keep it right on the seam, and I’m also trying to gather as much as possible in One spot I think that looks cute. boo-yeah boo-yeah one down 29 to go.
