this tutorial is going to be a crochet
baby dress i am estimating the size for three to
nine months there is some shaping around the arm
area we will be starting with this section right here making a chain of 23 i will be using four ply yarn and a size
I five point five millimeter crochet hook take the loose end wrap it over the

your hook below the center strand back up the opposite side this creates the

21 22 23 work one single crochet through each chain across you will have a total
of 22 12 34 five 6 seven eight 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 this completes row 1 we will turn I chose not to work a chain one on the
sides you can work a chain one if you would like to just make sure you count
rows 2 through 5 will be one single crochet in each stitch across thats 1 2
3 4 5 67 eight 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 I’m going to turn a row 3 will be the
same I’m not working a chain one I’m just
working one single crochet in the first stitch and in each stitch across we will continue with the remaining

sides for the back one piece for the front at this point we will be working in
rounds and attaching all these pieces together i’m going to turn work one

six 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 I am attaching with a single crochet
in the first single crochet just like this there will be 30 single crochet
across this section I worked the first one that’s two three four five six 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20
21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 this is what it looks like at this
point we are attaching the last section which is this part right down here where
we have a little . and the straight section is where we will join I am attaching with a single crochet
there will be 15 total that’s 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 now we want to join so we need to even
these up make sure they’re all going in the right
direction like that flip this one over like this this is the front this is the back I want to join and i’m putting my hook
right below the two loops at the top of the stitch wrap the yarn over pull
through pull through the loop on the hook I have joined all three pieces together
into one piece we have a total of sixty single crochet
we will work a chain one work the first single crochet row 15 will be one single
crochet in each stitch around for a total of sixty you will continue around working the
last single crochet joining with the first single crochet i am working with a
different color the top part of this dress is identical
to this dress i will be adding on a different skirt section this section
will show how to attach the straps the one on this side will be attached
right here we will be working over six single crochet the one on this side will be attached
counting back six single crochet to the inside and attaching right here and I’m
going to show how to attach this one first with the front side facing me i’m
going to count back 1 2 3 4 5 6 and attach right through here like a chain
one and I’m single crocheting right over the stitches that’s two three four five six and i actually worked right over the
single crochet i’m going to turn i am not working a chain one I’m working
six single crochet 1 2 3 4 5 6 turn work six single crochet one two three four
five six there will be full of 17 rows for the
strap I have finished the 17 throw this is
approximately how long it is wrap the yarn over pull through and i’m
going to pull through a little bit extra for attaching it to the back side now I’m going to turn this inside out
working on the inside this is the right sides facing and i’m
going to be working through each of the six single crochet on both sides joining
them together this is what it looks like on the front
side i’m going to go through one more time and I want to make sure it’s nice
and secure make a knot I like to make a second not then you can leave the tail back through
to the opposite side then cut the tail off this is what it

will repeat the same steps on this side the only difference is we are attaching

right side when they attach the straps attached them on the inside and I can
see that this is the inside of my work I want to attach on the inside like this
and i’m going to run my yarn through the stitches I don’t want to pull it all the way
through I’m going to go right about here and
make a knot and I have a little bit showing here and
i can just go like that and it will pull it on in I want to line my button on the outside
like this put my needle up right about here i am on the outside of my work now
going to align the button right here you can align years wherever you want to put
it there is no specific place just use your imagination and have fun
creating the opening and embellishing the dress i’m going to run my needle
through and i’ll only need to do this maybe three or four times i’m going to put it through the stitches
through the button like this I don’t want to pull it too tight I’m going to continue putting through a
couple more this is my last one going to run my needle to the inside
like this working on the inside i want to make a knot and then weave the tail
between the stitches like this looking on the inside and then go over a strand
back in the opposite direction just like this cut off the yarn this completes attaching the button to
the dress we are going to work a chain of 11 1 2 3
4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 you can adjust this chain to make it
larger or smaller to fit the size of your button I’m going to join with the beginning
chain joining is putting my hook through the first chain wrap the yarn over pull
through pull through the loop on the hook we have joined into a ring I’m going to
work one slip stitch around each chain is putting my hook through the chain
wrap the yarn over pull through until I’m back around to the beginning this is to give it a little bit extra
thickness and you don’t have to do this if you
don’t want to this is just something I like to do you
can just use the chain or create your own type of loop back around to the
beginning want to join with the beginning chain
like that yarn over pull through and i’m going to
pull through a little bit extra this is for attaching it to the opposite
side i’m going to place my ring right here working on the inside I want to make sure it’s even going to
pull this over to the edge and put my needle through the front then I want to go over a couple strands
through the chain to the inside like this and at this point you can check it
out just to make sure everything is going to work properly like that this will give you an idea how it’s
going to help and you will continue attaching the ring to the inside I’m going to make a little knot up here
at the top like that and then run my needle down here to this other side i’m
going to attach the last few chains making not here I’m still working on the
inside I’m going to work through the stitches
in the opposite direction i’m going to skip over some threads go
back in the opposite direction like this and cut off the yarn i’m going to put the loop over the
button like this

  6. this tutorial is terrible. she doesnt show you where to attach things so after following along, you have to watch the next few rows and hope you get it right. adding the front and backs, had to redo that. adding the straps, had to redo that. also doesnt show where to insert the hook for the skirt. im just beginning the skirt and am super frustrated. i should have read the comments first.

  11. I had to stop and rewind a few times. I didn't understand why she went from the bodice to the straps. She also rushed through how she attached the top pieces together. If she took her time on this part, it would have been much easier to follow. To go from showing you every stitch to rushing during the most intricate details was like "what happened?" Losing track has nothing to do with skill level cause it's not hard to crochet at all. But when you finally get it, it comes together very nicely. Thanks so much for sharing!

  17. Theresa, I'm so glad I read the comments I see people are having the same problem I'm having following you. You really don't explain how you are starting to attach the yarn to start those 15 singles. you just grabbed a piece and say turn and work 15 singles in the next 15 singles you should show how you are attaching the yarn to begin the singles and what piece you are working on. I figured it out. I'm a novice crocheter but some people here are beginners and you need to be more precise with your demonstrations.and take that into consideration when you are making your videos, or you need to say NOT FOR BEGINNERS you have lovely pieces and this is the first one I'm trying to make hope I can make it through it. By the way how did you attach your yarn to begin working on the 15 singles
