JSN UniForm Tutorials – Video 7: How To Create A Basic Form


In this video, we will learn about how to create a basic form with the JSN Uniform extension. This is a contact form which includes many fields such as Name, Email, Address, Single Line Text, Paragraph, File Upload and checkbox to require the customer to allow your website to handle their data. Now let’s start to create a new form, the same as this contact form. Make sure JSN Uniform extension is installed on your Joomla admin site. Click on the Component menu item to work with JSN Uniform. Click the New button, then you can see seven available forms. In this video we will start with Blank form. The first step is General settings. In the General tab, you need to insert the title of your form. Here you can select the captcha if you want. Click on the Save button. And then, go to Design tab to start the next step. This is the add fields step, Go back to available form to view all fields. In the Design tab, click on the Add Fields button to select the field. The first field is Name here you can edit this field. On the General tab, you can select required and some other functions for your field. Next is the values tab which allows you to remove the fields you want to hide, and change the position of them. Also you can edit the options of the title field. The second field is Address, On the General tab, select required, and edit all fields on the Values tab. The third is Email field This field is required too. In the Values tab, you can insert the Predefined Value and Required Confirmation. Next choose the Single Line Text field and replace the name with the Message Subject. In the Values tab of the Single Line Text field, you can configure the Validation rule. Message is the Paragraph Text field, don’t forget to select Required for this field. Next is the Website field. The same as Message Subject field, with Company we should select Single Line Text field and no need to select Required. One more field is the File Upload field. And the last one is the Checkbox field, this is to require the customer to allow your website to handle their data. This is how to compose a GDPR compliant form for your Joomla! Site. In the list of fields, select the Checkbox field and replace the title if you want. Go to the Values tab, where you can edit the items. By default you can see three items, we will delete two of them and replace the default content with your own content. When your form is done, don’t forget to click on the Save button. The next step is to preview your form. After your form is saved, click on the Preview button on the toolbar to preview the form on the frontend. In preview mode all the submit actions are disabled. Here you can see all the fields of your form on the frontend. The final step is to show the form. On the toolbar, click on the Save & Show button JSN Uniform extension allows you to show the form via menu item, in the module position and inside the articles In this video we will show the form via menu item, select the menu you want to show, you should be redirected to the Menus: New Item page. Insert the Menu title, check that the form is selected and click on the save button. Go to the frontend to check the form has been created. The form is shown via Contact Us menu item, click on it.
