Mary Sanderson Costume from Hocus Pocus!

Welcome to Pins and Things. Today, I’m going to be turning the time over to Jessica my sister She will be showing you how she made her Mary Sanderson costume from hocus pocus. So to start off we just have black boots, black leggings I got a roll of plaid fabric and it was about three yards And I didn’t shape it or anything. I just gathered it all together So what I did was I folded over the fabric right here And I made a tube for the elastic to go in and I left a gap about that long And I just needed it through and then I sewed elastic together and stitched over. At the end of the dress I just cut ragged things and let it be. You don’t even have to make a seam at the end and then for the apron I just cut out a rectangle I got two patches, sewed it on and made ragged edges and then at the top of the corset piece, I did a hook and eye and the it’s hooked to the Corset, so when the corset moves this moves too and it doesn’t have as much bulge. I made a corset. It was a pattern that I actually came up with. You can get your average course at peace but just add angles on the front piece of it, and then I added strips for the top. You just elongated the pattern too We just sewed looped in right here. We tied it together with jute. We did the same thing right here we got our loops and we did it down the front and we did the jute and then we also just sewed on rings I asked my brother to make some wooden rings You could use shower curtain rings too. We used a heat gun to get it that burned look just like that. Okay, for the shirt I just got a normal peasant blouse pattern and I just sewed that up, really simple It’s elastic in the top and in the sleeves and the sleeves I actually have it so you can have it both ways It could be long if it’s cold you can have it loan or you could just tuck it in and that’s what I do I just tuck it in. For my hair, I actually got a little spray bottle that was a triangle And I got a wig. I wrapped it around and I pinned it because my hair is kind of thin so I just had it so it was the backing so it didn’t peek through and show the spray bottle. I tipped over my head and I put a rubber band in it I also put a wire in the spray bottle to be able to have this angular look to have it stick out I sprayed it with purple spray Sometimes you can do a ribbon if you don’t want to do this braid. I also curled just these little things right here and for my makeup I just did my normal makeup besides the beauty spot and the eye shadow. What I also do to top it all off is I screw up my face You did such a good job on your costume You should be like this all the time I hope you guys like this video Make sure to subscribe if you haven’t already.
