New Cabin Uniforms Backstage – Turkish Airlines

My name is Miles Aldridge and I have been invited to shoot the new uniforms for Turkish Airlines. I was really inspired when I saw the uniforms because they heart back to a golden age of couture fashion from the 1950s but with a very contemporary twist. Again, it is very much like my own work which is always referencing past but being very much in today. It’s been amazing shooting here in the streets of Istanbul. There’s a kind of magic and almost surrealist quality to Istanbul that really fits with my pictures. I’d like to think I work in a way quite similar to a film director when I’m creating my images. Explaining to hair dressers, make up artists, set designers, what colour or what shape what performance I want from a model and where I want the props and what colour the props should be. I’m trying to create some timeless iconic images. When I do shoot on locations, It’s really important to find the most beautiful, perfect spaces that I can transform with my lighting. The famous spice market, almost like walking to a Matisse cutout. Electric lime greens, weave together with splashes of orange. I love to control things in my pictures, probably more than many photographers. But I believe the challenge always creates great work.

  1. Turkish airlines is my only favorite AIRLINE 😍 i love to your boarding music at most 3 times a day..
I would love to serve you 😊 and I'm ready to work for you in any department

  2. Yani milliyetçi bir insan değilim ama Türk Hava Yolları'nın adıyla aynı çizgide ilerleyip Türk tasarımcılar, Türk marka geliştiriciler ve Türk fotoğrafçılarla çalışması kaliteyi artırırdı diye düşünüyorum. Son yapılan logo ve tasarım değişikliklerinde daha özgün yaklaşımlarda bulunabilecek yerli şirketler varken İngiliz şirketleriyle çalışılması biraz garip kaçmış. Sadece şahsi fikrim.

  3. Looks horrible and outdated, especially the gray color, the stockings and the weird pattern. It should have been a Turkish designer instead of foreigners who think they know our culture and style.
