So it turns out that . . . textiles are recyclable!

So it turns out that . . . textiles are recyclable!

Okay, I know that I can donate clothes
that I don’t want to wear anymore, but what if I have something unwearable or
stained or torn or something like socks or underwear, sheets, curtains? And if it’s
unwearable do I have to throw it away? No actually. So it turns out that any
fabric can be shredded and used to make such things as insulation, carpet, padding,
and even (to my surprise) filler for punching bags. So if you were to open up
a punching bag you might find bags of sand for weight surrounded by a thick
layer of shredded flowerr print shirts or dresses. So don’t be shy. Get out those unwearable
unmentionables and take them to the nearest textile recycling bin, such as
the ones we have here at the SMaRT Station.
