Winter Coat And Mittens, Get Dressed and Stay Warm With Your Broken Arm: Life With A Cast Episode 20

Winter Coat And Mittens, Get Dressed and Stay Warm With Your Broken Arm: Life With A Cast Episode 20

I am Fiona McAllister this is my life with
a cast video series. If it’s cold when you get your cast, here’s how to put
your jacket on. Simply start with your broken arm and it will be tender at the
beginning and then just gently slide your arm into your sleeve like this, then pull the cast through. If your jacket
is fitted like this you’re going to take it off the same way as I showed you with the
sweaters. Pull it off your good arm first and then just kind of peel it off your cast.
You can switch the arm around afterward. This is the kind of coat you don’t want
to wear with your cast because it’s tricky to get off. So a test you can do
is when you’re putting your arm through if it only goes up to here like this
without really becoming difficult don’t put the coat on because you have to
kind of force your cast through and then getting it off trust me is a bit difficult and kind of painful so just save yourself the trouble if it doesn’t go through all the
way to the end easily, then don’t wear that coat until you get cast off. You
want the coat that’s nice and easy to put your arms through like this and then
it comes through without any trouble. If you have a coat that does snap it
will be your favorite one for the next few weeks. Snaps are so much easier than
trying to fuss with zippers so it might even be worth heading to the thrift
store and picking up yourself a gigantic coat. This one I had for a while but
it’s loose enough that it easily fits over. But if you need to you might just want to head yourself over to the thrift store and pick up a coat that is a bit baggy
and has snaps. It’ll make your life so much easier. For keeping your hands warm
you’re going to need a super stretchy mitten like this that will stretch big
enough to go over the cast. You’re not going to be able to get it all the way
down but
you can get a good enough that it’ll keep your kind of warm if you have to go
outside for walking between the cars on a really cold day. Little mittens like this
that don’t stretch much obviously aren’t going to get over your cast they’re not going
to be any good for you. Thank you for watching please subscribe to my channel
