Would You Wear a Bathing Suit to Work for a Week? | We Tried It | InStyle

Hi, I’m Alexis, I am the assistant fashion
editor at InStyle. And I am going to try and wear one-piece bathing suits as bodysuits
to work every day this week. We will see how it works
making it work appropriate? It’s gonna be great, but it’s also gonna be like wearing like Spanx every day. Bathing suits are tight. Hi guys, it’s Monday. And it’s day one of swimsuit to work,
bodysuit situation. Who’s ready? I paired it with a blue button-down and high-waisted flared jeans. Which I think dressed it down a
little bit and took the attention off how low it was and was more about the
color and the shape. I already have a wedgie, I don’t know if there’s any fixing that. The high-waisted jeans are helping to make the wedgie less noticeable, so we’ll see how this goes throughout the day, how uncomfortable I will be. Here we go! Swimsuits are my life, I handle the swimsuit market at InStyle, I know every brand. I’m really big on posting my swimsuits on Instagram. I love it. Alexis is really well-informed at the market of
body suits and swimwear . she really loves it on a personal level and she also does a lot of stories about it. So I was really excited to see
how she was gonna pull this off. So I’m not gonna lie to you, I am sweating a little bit but can you imagine walking around work
like this? So… I have a permanent wedgie. It has not gone away once. I haven’t gone to the bathroom! No! It wasn’t a comfortable choice, but it looks really cute so… Just a day in the life. Day two! We’re trying something more swimsuit-esque? Less bodysuit. It’s off-the-shoulder which is
a little different for work, and I envision it getting extremely annoying. I put it with a denim miniskirt and little slides. And a lighter denim jacket over it. We’ll see if I get some comments.
I feel like they’re coming today. I’m trying to wear swimsuits as bodysuits
this entire week. This wasn’t the best one for today,
since I have to move my arms a lot and… This is literally it. Today, I wore a bathing suit
that’s a little higher, because yesterday was a little too low for me, but this off-the-shoulder thing?
Not sustainable during work. A lot more people noticed today and asked,
“what are you wearing?” I had wedgies all day. Note the wedgie count. Three more days so, keep on watching
to see what I have in store for tomorrow. I’m obsessed with this look. It’s kind of like a tank top. I paired it with a black suit and black flats. So very business appropriate, but I’m
still wearing a bathing suit! So I actually didn’t notice that Alexis is
wearing swimsuits to work this week, she looks really cute and it’s definitely office appropriate. I’m sure that
Alexis probably didn’t want everyone to notice that she was performing this Olympic-style task this week. She performed a bronze level outfit on Monday.
Today’s outfit though, however, I think it’s probably a contender for gold.
But we’ll see how the rest of week plays out. Today, for the people who do know what I’m doing, they have all confronted me being like, that doesn’t
actually look like a swimsuit. I think the high-waisted pants really helped. There were a few wedgies, but I kind of just let the bathing suit ride up
and just lived my life like that. I am like, the swimsuit guru. This swimsuit flew under the radar today. Which was very interesting. Day Four! I’m very excited about this look today. A pajama shirt.
And then pair it down with jeans and sneakers. I’m gonna be on set all day today, so I needed to be super comfortable, super casual, but obviously
still look good. So I am on set for one of our September shoots, so far so good, I have no complaints. I mean it’s just so comfortable, I may start wearing bathing suits
to all of the shoots I’m on. Just squatting down, to tie shoes,
to jump up again, to fix this… It kind of just worked its way up my butt at that point I just left it.
And that’s when I got really comfortable. So we are packing up now. We’ve been on set since 7:00a, that means I’ve been I’ve been in a bathing suit for probably, like, 12 hours right now. Tell me who’s ever been in a swimsuit for that long. It’s Friday! Today I’m wearing a solid and stripe one-piece. It has sparkles, very Friday. I’m wearing it with high-waisted jeans
(as you know my favorite), sandals, and a denim jacket. The perfect Friday outfit. Today was really… I was very comfortable
in this outfit. People did comment on the sparkles
because I am NOT a sparkle girl. So I got a few comments on like,
“Oh my gosh! You’re in sparkles.” It’s after-work friendly.
My Friday fun day outfit. So I’ve gone to work in this bathing suit,
I’ve gone to drinks, and now I’m going out. But let’s first see
what Edward has to say about this swimsuit. Edward, do you like my swimsuit? So rude. This was such a fun challenge. I noticed because I’ve been wearing my own swimsuits, I’ve been wearing colors, and prints, and sparkles. I think it’s a great way
to use these pieces that you love so much, and they like sit in your closet
for ten months of the year. Thank you guys so much for following me on my challenge.
Now go rock your bathing suits! Bye!
